This year's Race for Life Manchester takes place in Heaton Park across the weekend of Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 July 2024.

Thousands of runners are expected to take place across the 3k, 5k, 10k and Pretty Muddy courses.

Saturday 6 July

  • Manchester Pretty Muddy Kids - 9.45am

  • Manchester Pretty Muddy 5k - 11am


Sunday 7 July

  • Manchester 10k - 9.30am

  • Manchester 5k - 11am

  • Manchester 3k - 11am

The meeting point and start line is in the centre of the park between the Tram Museum and Boating Lake. The course layout means that the finish line will also be around this area of the park.


If travelling to the event, your best option will be to travel by tram.

The nearest stops to the venue are Heaton Park and Bowker Vale. From these stops, you can catch trams into the city centre, to Altrincham, and to Bury. It takes approximately 20 minutes to get back to the city centre by tram.


Tram frequencies

There are frequent services to all destinations on the line. On a Saturday, there will be trams at least every 12 minutes, and on a Sunday, trams will be at least every 15 minutes, many of which will be double units.


Tickets

You will need to buy a ticket before you travel - you cannot buy tickets on the tram.

If you are purchasing a ticket from a machine, Heaton Park is in zone 3 - this means it will be £4.30 to travel to and from the park from the city centre, and Bowker Vale is in zone 2/3, which is £3.50 for journeys from the city centre.

All you need to do is park your car for free and hop on board the tram to your destination.

Event parking is available at the Lakeside Car Park on Sheepfoot Lane. Traffic Management will be in place to help direct you.

Manchester City Council operate a Pay and Display system please ensure you arrive within plenty of time to purchase a ticket using cash at the machine or via the PayByPhone App. Charges are priced at an hourly rate or £3 all day.

Blue Badge Parking

Disabled parking is available at the Lakeside Car Park, and at another car parks within the venue. Please adhere to the one way system and 5mph restrictions at all times. From Lakeside Car Park it is is 5 min walk to the event site on a flat surfaced path.
